October 22 Competition thanks to Continental Tyre.

Experience your Mercedes-Benz as it was designed to be driven

Let’s talk about tyres. Other than the fact that they’re black and round – how much do you really know about them?
Would it be fair to say you pay more attention to the features of your car than the features of your tyres?

If the answer to that question is yes, you’re not alone. But if you think about it for a minute, it makes sense that a car is only as good as its interface with the road surface.
Vehicle manufacturers recognise that tyres can have an enormous impact on vehicle performance. And that’s why they invest heavily in working with premium tyre makers to develop the perfect tyre for every model in their range. If your Mercedes-Benz is still on the tyres it came with from new – known as original equipment – then you’ve got a custom product that’s the result of extensive research and testing and that was designed for your car.

It takes an average of four years from the initial concept study to one of Continental’s tyres being mounted on a new car made by an international manufacturer. The process is rigorous and involves more than 100 internal tests. It’s won the trust of European manufacturers, who use Continental tyres on more than 800 models. Almost every third new car that comes off European production lines is fitted with Continental tyres. In the last year, Continental has seen many original equipment tyre approvals on a range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, from the rolling resistance-optimised EcoContact™ 6 designed to maximise the range of the fully electric EQA and EQB, or the award-winning PremiumContact™ 6 on the C-Class. For the high-performance Mercedes-AMG line-up, Continental has tyre approvals on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E and Mercedes-AMG C43 with tyres from its SportContact™ range. The new SportContact™ 7 is original equipment on the Mercedes-AMG C43.
The SportContact™ 7 only entered the market at the end of 2021 and has already collected five high-profile awards in the UK. Its adaptive tread pattern delivers safe and consistent handling on wet and dry roads, even at high speeds. And the balance between its stiff low-void patterns and the use of Continental’s soft BlackChili compound enables high performance driving coupled with significantly increased mileage (versus the SportContact™ 6).
There is a tailor-made SportContact™ 7 for every type of performance vehicle, giving every driver the chance to experience the SportContact™ feeling, whenever they start the engine.
To celebrate the success of the SportContact™ 7, Continental has partnered with Mercedes-Benz Owners to run an exclusive reader competition.

You might wonder what tyres and trainers have in common. The answer is simple. Both are responsible for your grip with the ground, however you’re moving forward.

For 15 years, Adidas has relied on Continental’s material expertise to keep its shoes grounded and able to cope with high loads, different surfaces and a range of weather conditions.
Just like its tyres, Continental’s rubber trainer soles are the result of German engineering, international research and thorough testing. More than 60 million pairs have been sold to date. And now you could get your hands on one.

All you have to do is correctly answer the below question, for the chance to win an Adidas e-voucher worth £160, to be redeemed on the Adidas UK website on trainers featuring Continental soles.

How many test wins has the SportContact™ 7 received
in the UK this year?

1. One
2. Seven
3. Five
